More Information about Children of Lithuania

Like most of the former Soviet Union countries, Lithuania is trying to recover from a severe economic and social crisis : the children are the primary victims of such a situation.
In Trakai in 1993, the founders of Children of Lithuania discovered the misery of the orphans in this district and the serious need for humanitarian action. As a result, Children of Lithuania was founded in 1995
Since then, Children of Lithuania is a link between your generosity and the relief of their misery.
In the districts of Trakai and Elektrenai, both of which are west of the capital Vilnius  ...
we support,
- in  Trakaï : the Orphanage, 200 children from 6 to18, the Children's Orphanage, 40 children from 2 to 6, the Pediatric Ward of the Hospital, 50 beds, the City Social Service
- in  Vievis, the Clinic, 1,700 patients and 50 beds in the local Hospital
- in  Bezionys, the Orphanage, 45 children
- in  Elektrenai, the Hospital's 25 beds in the Pediatric Ward, the old people's Home
- the works of the Sisters of Bethleem, in  Paparciai and the street children cared for by the Brothers of St. Jean in Vilnius
- we give aid when needed to needy families in the région.

How we work :
 - we collected necessary goods in France ; clothes, shoes, medical supplies, beds and bedding, ... We also collect toys.
We send  and distribute all the goods, without any intermediary  to partner organizations in the districts .
- we take one a part of expenses of a sponsored child
- we collect the needed funds to accomplish this part of our mission.
